ADFAT Company Limited (ACL) is a 100% owned Ghanaian Company licensed by the Minerals Commission of Ghana to undertake purchase of gold for export as well as engage in small scale mining of gold, among others.

In line with Sections 6 and 104 of the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703), the Government of Ghana grants license to interested investors to buy, refine and export gold from Ghana. Application for the license is made to the Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission for the necessary review and subsequent recommendation to the Hon. Minister.

The license is normally granted for a period of three years and may be renewed by the Hon. Minister for additional terms. Shipments of rough diamonds to and from Ghana, are subjected to rules and regulations as prescribed and shall be in accordance with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.

To be the leading small-scale mining company, graduating into a large scale empire by 2020. Small Scale Mining License governs winning, mining and production of minerals such as gold, diamonds, salt, kaolin, silica, sand, brown clay, aggregates and crushed rocks by an effective and efficient method and observe good mining practices, health and safety rules and pay due regard to the protection of the environment during mining operations.

A license is granted to a person, a group of persons, a cooperative society or a company for a period not more than five years from the date of issue in the first instance and may be renewed on expiry for a further period that the Minister may determine. The size of the area in respect of which a license may be granted for small-scale mining shall not exceed 25 acres (10 Hectares). Only Ghanaians of at least 18 years can be granted Small scale mining license.

In pursuit of this objective, this report has been prepared to enable ACL access the needed license to enable the company implement its program.

In drawing up this proposal, we adopted the following methodology:

  • Review of secondary data and previous studies on the project.
  • Review existing financial information provided by management.
  • Market study of the precious metals and gems trade in Ghana especially with the Precious Minerals Marketing Company.
  • Collection of operational and maintenance data from other mining companies in Ghana as well as major mining equipment suppliers around the world.

The project, if implemented would among others:

  • Create job opportunities.
  • Increase the country’s foreign exchange earnings
  • Move the country closer to the realization of Government’s vision of enhancing the contribution of gold production to the overall national economy.
